Our Friends

As first time adoptive parents, we know that we are sailing into uncharted territory! Here are some of our friends that have adopted children of their own and are excited to aid us during this adventure. We are grateful for the diversity they present with birthmother experience, transracial adoptees, as well as families with both biological and adopted children so that we can get help as needed where applicable.

The Nygard Family

Eric and Jenny were unable to have children after trying for several years, which lead them to adoption. Their journey, in part, is what inspired us to pursue adoption as well. They welcomed 3 precious kids through adoption before having 7 children via biological means! Eric is Brian's brother and best friend. We have become very close to their family since our marriage. We love them and their kids dearly, we're grateful we live close enough forfrequent visits. (One son, Andrew, is in heaven and is not pictured.)

Heather

Even though Heather is Eden's aunt, their relationship is that more of sisters. Eden grew up 10 min away and they got together often, just to chat and be together. Heather is a birthmother. She placed a baby boy for adoption 20 years ago with whom our family has been able to maintain a relationship because of open adoption. We consider her a powerful resource in navigating open adoption and being considerate of our hopeful child's first/birth mother.

The Hackett Family

Ryan and Michelle are among our very favorite people. After having four biolgical children they adopted their two sons. (One not pictured because he is brand new!) We have always admired how they approach parenthood, even before their adoption and will surely be asking their advice when needed!

The Julian Family

Eden was a babysitter for Stacy and Geoff, they were in the same congregation for most of Eden's upbringing, and we've kept in touch. After 4 biological sons, they felt the call to adopt their daughter from Korea! They have been an invaluable resource to answer our many questions.

The Oviatt Family

Barb and Corie grew their family by adopting all three of their children. Eden remembers their daughter's adoption process and saw it up close as her sister was best friends with their oldest son. They have been so helpful in guiding us through this process, answering questions again and again. We are very thankful!
